Meet Our Founder
Abdulmalik Atta, PhD
Founder & Managing Consultant
Dr. Abdulmalik Atta is a financial services professional, former regulator and strategic adviser with more than a decade of experience across Nigeria’s banking and financial services sector.
Before founding Maine Consults Limited, he spent about a decade at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as a Manager and Financial System Analyst, supervising and regulating financial institutions across the country. His experience spans regulatory compliance, risk-based supervision, licensing, financial analysis, anti-money laundering examinations and financial inclusion.
Today, Dr. Atta brings this institutional experience to Maine Consults, advising financial institutions, fintechs, investors and businesses on licensing, regulatory engagement, acquisitions, investment structuring, business restructuring and financial strategy.
He holds a PhD in Management (Finance) from Nile University Abuja, a Master’s in International Business Management from the University of Surrey, UK, and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Economics from the University of Reading, UK.
A published researcher and advocate for financial inclusion, his work is grounded in a commitment to expanding financial opportunity, supporting sustainable growth and helping businesses navigate an evolving financial landscape with confidence.
